In September, Dr Matthew Nitschke and I spent 2 weeks in Rarotonga, Cook Islands on fieldwork for Matt's Rutherford Research Project. While we were there, we had the opportunity to meet and work with Dr Teina Rongo and Jackie Rongo of Kōrero O Te Ōrau and learnt a lot about the Cook Islands - in and out of the water. Matt is currently funded by a Rutherford Foundation fellowship administered by the Royal Society of New Zealand Te Apārangi for his Postdoctoral Fellowship focussing on the microscopic algae that power reef-building corals. While we were there we had a great write-up in the local Cook Islands News, featuring both in print and online which you can read here. Comments are closed.
