Tonight was our welcome dinner in Ushuaia, Argentina. Tonight we met each other for the first time after getting to know each other online, or 'virtually' throughout the year. Tonight was one of the most memorable nights I've ever had. The intelligence, strength, courage and power in the room was phenomenal. There was a buzz in the air that is hard to describe except it was like 80 small puppies all excitedly meeting for the first time and being given free food. It was incredible to put faces and names together for our friends that we had spent the year slowly getting to know through zoom calls, science theme group work, the learning groups and some catchups. Even meeting these women for the first time was like seeing a long lost best friend - we each greeted each other with a huge hug and smile and everyone felt so warmly accepted and welcomed. My face was sore from smiling so much! The energy in the room escalated as we were introduced the the Leadership team - the faculty who have created the program for us and who were delivering it throughout the year and on board the ship. And I was shaking when Chrisiana Figueres was introduced and spoke a few words welcoming us all - and I took a pretty shakey looking video...!
